Murillo "Muca" Sguillaro is a London-based composer, music producer, audio engineer, multi-instrumentalist and founder of The Secret Warehouse of Sound, an independent recording studio and music production company based in Hackney, East London.

​

Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Muca has spent over two decades building an international career spanning commercial recording studios, artist development, composition, production and education. His passion for music began at the age of twelve when he first picked up the guitar, eventually leading him into professional recording studios where he developed a deep appreciation for both the technical and creative sides of record making.

He began his engineering career at the renowned Estúdio Vibe in São Paulo, working alongside some of Brazil's most respected producers and engineers on multi-platinum records. In 2009, he relocated to London to further expand his musical horizons, joining the legendary London Recording Studios (formerly SARM East), where he became an in-house sound engineer, recording and mixing artists across a wide variety of musical genres.

Throughout his career Muca has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists including Roberto Menescal, one of the founders of Bossa Nova, Anoushka Shankar, L.A. Salami, Liana Flores, Los Bitchos, Bay City Rollers, Randolph Matthews, Declan Welsh & The Decadent West, Tiger Finkel, The Dead Pirates, Alice SK and many more.

As a composer and producer, Muca is known for combining his Brazilian musical heritage with contemporary production, creating records that blend warmth, musicality and meticulous sonic detail. His most ambitious work to date is BELEZA, an international album conceived, composed and produced entirely under his creative direction. Featuring legendary guitarist Roberto Menescal alongside twelve exceptional vocalists from Brazil and the UK—including Anaiis, Liana Flores, Josyara and Fabiana Cozza—the project celebrates the timeless spirit of Brazilian music through performances in both Portuguese and English. Muca oversaw every stage of the production, from songwriting, arrangement, recording and mixing through to mastering, artwork, manufacturing, metadata management and worldwide release strategy.

Alongside his production work, Muca spent over a decade as Head of Sound Engineering and Music Technology at London Music School, where he mentored hundreds of aspiring producers and engineers. His commitment to education continues to influence the collaborative and detail-oriented approach he brings to every recording project.

Between 2018 and 2022, Muca also hosted and produced London Calling 89FM, a weekly programme broadcast on one of Brazil's leading rock radio stations. Produced remotely from London, the show introduced emerging UK artists to Brazilian audiences through interviews, live sessions and carefully curated playlists, becoming one of the station's highest-performing programmes.

Today, through The Secret Warehouse of Sound, Muca continues to compose, produce, record and mix music for artists across the UK and internationally. Passionate about innovation in music production, he enjoys exploring emerging technologies, AI-assisted creative workflows and new ways of combining exceptional sound with meaningful artistic expression.
